My grandpa just passed away. I'm sure I'll have worlds more to say on the subject later, but for now, if you need me, call my cell. I might be at my grandma's house for the next few days.

This shirt is the only birthday present I will accept this year.

Hopefully, this will land me a couple so I can wear each one a different day of the week.

Does anyone put any stock into that Myers-Briggs crap? I got told recently I'm an INTP and having looked it up it seems reasonable, but the idea that personalities can be defined so simply seems odd to me.

...having just said that, however, may confirm my status as an INTP. Hurm.

So Ashley and I broke up recently. It was on the best of terms, we're still friends, and I feel bad saying it but I'm kinda over it already? I mean, it was pretty rad being with her, don't get me wrong, but like always I knew it'd end eventually and this helped me prepare for it. And despite what my Facebook says, I am still single. Sorry, Sean.

It's gonna be a long long while before I try again, if ever. There's a lot I have to sort out (most of you know who I'm referring to) and I always like a 1 1/2-2 year break between relationships. No, seriously. Nancy and I ended in 2006, Ashley and I got together in 2008, and before Nancy I hadn't dated anyone since 2003.

Has anyone reading this ever held two jobs at once?

I don't wanna quit EB, but Radio Shack is hiring and the manager seemed pretty down for the idea of Tim Allen working there.

But Tim Allen is a man who values his free time.

    I just finished
the best damn essay I'd ever written.

My English Comp. teacher made the mistake of giving me the option to write about the effects of media violence on children. Those of you who know me know that this is the only political and societal debate I take part in. Fuck abortion, fuck immigration, fuck gay marriage, that's all well and good, but somebody needs to stand up for R-rated movies and M-rated video games, and this day they have chosen Tim Allen as their stalwart defender! LOOK UPON MY WORKS, YE MIGHTY, AND DESPAIR!

With the help of Gerard Jones and Dr. Jonathan Freedman, I tore that shit apart. I react very well to opposing viewpoints, evidently: a girl in my class had her paper finished and it was speaking FOR the belief that watching violent movies or playing violent video games turns your kids into rapist murderers. I never had and still do not have a problem with that young lady, she seems nice enough. But her paper gave me a concrete vision of my enemy. I have given a name to my pain, Bob. And with that to rebel against, I crafted the best essay of my career. Which isn't saying much, everything I've written (this included) is poorly-thought out and overly-wordy horseshit. But it's poorly-thought out horseshit that I believe in and campaign for. My grade on the assignment is irrelevant to me, I made my point as best as I could and that gives me a greater sense of accomplishment than any possible B+ could.

I swear on the graves of Thomas and Martha Wayne that I shall not rest in my ceaseless search for justice!

    Until English 102, I mean.

So, once again, the friggin' internet is out at my house because my mom can't keep up on bills. Hopefully this is just temporary.

And does anyone have any suggestions for a cheaper ISP in Port Huron? I'm thinking about Verizon.

A little while ago, a female friend of mine asked me why I didn't have a girlfriend or anything. It would've been much easier to have shown her this:

LEMME TELL YOU ABOUT MY NIGHT
because I had the best night I've ever had, hands down.

I saw Streetlight Manifesto tonight and it was the best I'd ever seen them. The setlist was almost perfect (except there was no That'll Be The Day, but they did Watch it Crash which is...pretty much the same song) and they were the headliner so they were on for like an hour and a half.

I ran into a bunch of kids I hadn't seen in forever, including:
Eric and Matty from 40 Lashes, Alex and Dan from Mr. Sexy,
and Chelsea and Kelley, both of whom I'm surprised remember me, and I met the following dudes: Chris, Jim, Matthew, and Mike from Streetlight,
Rick Johnson from Mustard Plug, Rick Johnson's Rock 'n Roll Machine, and The Stitch Ups, and I sort of met Tomas Kalnoky during my first ever crowd surfing adventure. During "They Provide The Paint" I had Alex and Dan throw me on the crowd, and if it weren't for the expert timing of my sidekick Deuce I wouldn't have made it up there. I hopped on stage, stole a pick, looked Tomas right in the eyes and screamed "I FUCKING LOVE YOU, MAN" as I was escorted off stage by a big black dude. I'm still not sure what to do with the pick.

I also got my head kicked in, nearly ruined my glasses, and totally destroyed a pair of pants I really liked. But FUCK IT. Best concertgoing experience of my life, no joke.

    Fuck you, growing up!

First you take my friend John with the Navy and parenthood.

And now Linder's gone off to college. Specifically Central, like almost all my friends are going.

The Bastards of Young now only number three of us: Vince, Fuzzums, and myself. I've known all these dudes since my childhood; Vince was literally the first friend I EVER MADE. And now we're all going our seperate ways.

    I can't deal with this.

I just finished The X-Files. I'm pretty happy, although I admit I'm at a loss to what I'm going to spend 2008 doing.

What I need is a cute redhaired girlfriend by next July so she and I can see the second X-Files movie dressed like Mulder and Scully. Tell your friends!

I do sort of like this whole 'rewatching a series in a year' concept, any suggestions for next year? I might tackle 24, I'd only have to do six seasons.

And, of course, Happy New Year. I hope 2008 is totally awesome for everyone.

I need to figure out which of my friends are actually friends to me, and not just an associate by circumstance. PROTIP: it's not you!*

I need to learn to not care about people's perceptions of me; not "Tim Allen is in a band we go see sometimes" or "Tim Allen who works in the game store and doesn't like Halo", just "Tim Allen".

I need to be more steadfast and uncompromising on things I believe in.

I need to stop worrying about if whatshername likes me back or not, there's bigger fish I have to fry. (she's probably reading this lol)

And most of all I need to figure out what and who I can live without, remove them as gracefully as possible, and move on from there. In hindsight I should've figured this out a long time ago, I'm just entirely too fond of interpersonal relationships to get over myself and sort out what actually needs to be part of my life.

My computer is just almost good enough to run Crysis on Medium! I just need moar RAM, and I'd like to get a new video card early next year but the RAM would carry me until then.

Brand recommendations? I'm looking into some Kingston RAM, and, with a heavy heart, considering jumping ship and buying a NVIDIA card of the 512 MB persuasion. Any helpful tips from you, the viewers?

I may have actually just ruined two friendships of mine tonight.

Here's where I generally have a whiny, self-indulgent rant about how I'm a terrible person who doesn't deserve friends, but I don't feel too bad.

    Let me clarify that.

I feel bad because I may have completely, wholly burned two bridges I had only recently discovered, but given the circumstances I don't feel as though I was acting particularly out of line. I don't want to give the specifics, not here, but...well, I do feel as though I was completely right about one thing:

The days leading up to my birthday are going to be exactly as shitty as I expected them to be.
